Google Meet will zoom you front & center

Reframe your webcam to stay centered.

As announced on the Google Workspace blog last week, Google Meet will gain a new feature to keep you in the foreground during video calls.

If you are too far from the camera, it will automatically zoom in to reframe and put you upfront.

To use it, go to the settings, Video tab and then turn on the ⟳Reframe option :

Click Reframe to re-center your webcam during a Google Meet call.

💡 You can also Reframe during a call.

The feature will be rolled-out progressively as usual, starting with the Rapid Release domains.

To benefit from this feature, you will need one of the following Workspace plan : Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, Education Teaching and Learning Upgrade, or Workspace Individual.

It will also be available to Google One subscribers with 2TB or more storage space with eligible devices.

You can find more info on this article from the Google Workspace Help Center.
